5 Important Benefits That Must Be Asked During Job Interviews

When applying for a job, there are definitely mixed feelings such as being curious, anxious, happy, or even afraid of not being accepted for work. Especially when I found out there was a call from a large company. When interviewing, on the one hand you have to show expertise, authority, confidence, and of course all abilities. On the other hand you must always be critical to know that the company will truly be able to guarantee a career and fulfill the rights as people who want to devote themselves to the company.

Many cases that often occur during interviews , people are always shy and passive so that the interviewer's role is more dominant and most applicants are more likely to be interrogated. In time there really is when applicants must be passive and there are times when applicants must be active, especially regarding company benefits .

Company benefits or what is also called an employee benefit is the company's obligation to fulfill the welfare of its employees, if in Indonesia one of the standards that must be given is at least in the form of health insurance and old age insurance.

For large companies, of course the company benefits offered are very attractive. And each company has its own policies and rules. Therefore, applicants must actively ask about the company benefits in the job interview, before deciding to accept the job or position offered.

Immediately, the following are 5 important benefits that you must ask during a job interview:

1. Health insurance

Health is the most important thing in life, therefore in any work, health is the top priority that must be considered. If applying for a company, health insurance is very vital.

Therefore, as much as possible find a company that is able to provide health insurance to its employees properly. Just so you know, now there are still many companies that have not been able to provide health insurance to their employees properly.

Ask about this at the interview. As much as possible ask the details about the health insurance features offered such as whether there is outpatient / inpatient insurance when sick, if there are any limits offered and for the position of employees that you will occupy, you will get a treatment class when sick.

What is the claim system, whether reimbursement or anything else. The easier the insurance claim means the easier you will take care of the administration. Are there other additional health insurance features such as eye and dental care.

In general, companies do not include dental and eye care in health insurance. But if you find a company that offers it, you can say the company is very concerned with its employees.

The presence of BPJS at least provides a standard for all companies to at least be required to use the social health insurance service.

2. BPJS Health / Employment
When becoming an employee in a company, in Indonesia health insurance for employees is regulated by the state through the Social Security Organizing Agency. So inevitably, companies must register their employees with BPJS either through BPJS Health or Employment to ensure the welfare of their employees.

Even if the company does not register its employees, the company will be subject to sanctions in the form of fines, written reprimand or not having access to certain public services.

Therefore, related to the Employment / Health BPJS, what you need to ask during the interview is whether or not the company employees will be directly registered with the program. If the company does not or has not registered an employee, it is better to look for work elsewhere.

If you want more details about this BPJS, you can ask for other benefits such as accident insurance, life insurance and old age insurance. Usually the insurance has become a package of benefits in the BPJS program. But there is no harm in also asking further, so that feeling calm after being accepted to work.

3. Pension Fund

Most people still consider that the Pension Fund is the same as the Old Age Guarantee (JHT), even though both are very different. JHT can be obtained from BPJS or insurance companies. JHT is usually obtained directly by employees and the Pension Fund is not necessarily. Pension funds are regulated by the Financial Institution Pension Fund (DPLK) and management is mostly carried out by insurance companies or banks. So the Pension Fund is a completely separate matter and there are no binding provisions.

Therefore, if there is a company that provides a Pension Fund other than JHT, it can be ascertained that your welfare will be good if you work at the company. Even though a Pension Fund is an employee benefit that is rarely found but it doesn't hurt you to ask this at the interview.

4. Benefits
Lots of employees are making noise because they are not given benefits, especially THR or holiday allowances. In general, companies in Indonesia always provide benefits in the form of incentives and bonuses. However, apart from these benefits or incentives, specifically the legal THR is mandatory because it has been regulated in the Manpower Act.

You can ask about benefits when interviewing. How benefits are given, whether based on position or performance. A good company will actually provide information about these benefits automatically when interviewing, but when not delivered, it is mandatory to ask.

5. Overtime Wages

The issue of state overtime pay regulates it in the Manpower Act No. 13 of 2003. That every employer that employs workers / employees (employees) beyond normal working hours is required to provide overtime wages.

However, certain business sectors are also excluded in the law, so employers are not required to pay overtime wages. Therefore, you should ask related to overtime pay at the interview, if you can, you can also ask why the company does not provide overtime pay.

Ask Before It's Too Late
You must ask about the benefits the company will provide when serving as an employee. Do not let you have already been bound by a work contract and then you are more harmed. If the company is able to meet at least 4 of the 5 points above, then the company is eligible for you to make a place to work.
